Hello. I’m Nakayamaken.
I work as a taxi driver in Osaka.
I write here about Osaka, transportation, cars, music, and whatever else I get curious enough to look into. The topics are fairly scattered. So are my interests.
If something bothers me, I look into it
I’m not very good at leaving an unanswered question alone.
If a car starts making a sound I’ve never heard before, I’ll test whether it changes with speed or weather. If something about a road or traffic signal seems odd, I’ll look into why it was built that way. If Japanese sources do not get me far enough, I sometimes end up searching in English or Korean too.
Once I start researching something, I tend to wander pretty far from the original question. I’m better at looking things up and thinking them through than giving an instant answer on the spot.
Sometimes one answer just gives me two more questions.
Transportation, and a few other things
I’ve been interested in transportation since I was a kid.
Roads, railways, cars, and the movement of people. The same place can work very differently depending on the day, time, weather, or an event nearby. Driving a taxi, I like noticing those changes and wondering why today is different.
I like cars themselves too, especially slightly older Toyotas and taxi vehicles.
Music is another mixed bag: K-pop, Japanese pop from the Showa and Heisei eras, Tropical House, and whatever else happens to stick.

When I write about something I experienced myself, I treat it as my own experience. When something can be checked, I try to trace it back to the original source.
I try not to state things as certain when I do not know. If I later find out I was wrong, I fix it.
The Osaka travel information here is based on the things people actually ask me while I’m driving, and the things I would want to know if I were showing someone around the city myself.
I’m not trying to force the site into one neat theme.
It is simply a place where I keep properly researched notes on the things I genuinely get curious about.
If someone with the same question can reach an answer a little faster than I did, that is enough for me.
